✍️ Blog + Newsletter Platform
Before we get started, I just want to let you know that my GAC (Growth Action Camp) 3rd batch was just launched today.
You can get more details on it here: gum.co/gac3
If you or your employees are interested in learning about marketing, then consider enrolling.
We’ve got 8 seats left. Enrol now for just $99.
With that out of the way, here is what I have for this week.
This idea is one of the more unconventional ones that I have done off-late.
I had another software product idea that I wanted to share with you this week, but I pushed it back to do this one.
The premise is simple and I believe it to be viable.
The business/product I am referring to is the “easy to get started blogging platform” with an integrated newsletter and the ability to charge for membership.
Let’s break this down:
A minimalist blog creator (Think Substack’s home page design + post page)
A newsletter integration on the backend that connects with email carriers (Mailchimp & Sendinblue).
Ability to put a paywall for free subscribers on certain posts and accept payments from subscribers.
Zapier integration for automation.
Here is why this will work:
Ghost is not user-friendly to a non-technical person. I have spoken to 7 people in the last couple of days who are currently looking for a Substack alternative and they like Ghost but they are not confident about their ability to manage it.
Substack charges 10% of the revenue. It is small when your subscriber base is small but if you reach a couple hundred subscribers, then the amount starts looking unreasonable for something so basic.
Substack doesn’t integrate with Zapier to the best of my knowledge. It would save creators like me so much time if they did. It is one of the reasons I recently decided to move this newsletter to a community format.
As far as traction is concerned..
Ghost is currently doing $321,000 per month (Verified) in revenue. Substack numbers are not public but I think it is fair to say they are growing pretty rapidly.
This is not a simple product to build. But there is a significant opportunity with the creator economy and it is possible if 2-3 good developers to get together and get this done.
So let’s get into it.

Here is a list of .com domain names you can use for this idea. If you’d like to support this newsletter, then consider using these affiliate links to buy the domain.
You’ll not be charged anything extra but I’ll get compensated for driving sales on their platform.

SEO Keywords
Like usual, there are 2 types of keywords in this report.
Context
Intent-based
To know how to use these keywords, you can refer to any of my earlier reports like this and this.

Side note: This domain is full of big players with immense SEO capabilities. So you are better off not directly competing with the existing players on this domain. Hence, I’ll be focussing on growth hacking opportunities a lot more for this edition that usual.
To get the full report, you can join my PRO plan for just $10 a month. With the subscription, you’ll get access to:
All 4 complete reports instead of just 1.
Ability to suggest future reports.
Access to the paid community (I’ll also be active there).
Access to exclusive offers
Option to attend growth calls.
