Interesting Products 👉 ed.3
Before we get started with this week’s list, I want to give you an update on the newsletter challenge that I started last month.
The challenge was simple - Create a newsletter and earn $500 in revenue (Apr 8 - May 8) in 30 days.
And I did it.
I chose the subject matter to be around domain names since that is very attractive to affiliate partners and is easy to create content around.
So I created Domain Point on April 8th and launched on PH on April 9th.
I sold my own digital product + did some affiliate links.
Stats:
Now that the challenge is complete, I no longer want to run that newsletter.
So I’m selling it.
I’ve got the content ready for the next 1 year and I’ll include that along with the newsletter sale + the digital product that I sold.
Reply back to this email with “yes” to know the price.
With that out of the way, let’s get into this week’s list of interesting products from Product Hunt.
Miventure: Robinhood for startup investing
Why do I think this is great?
There are a lot of interesting startups looking for seed money.
Charge a percentage of the funding raised, so that it is zero risk for the startup.
Investing happens only with vetted startups so there is added trust.
This product had ~350 upvotes but I think they have a huge growth potential. Imagine if you could convince SaaS businesses with recurring revenue to raise money on your platform? Or even better get physical local businesses to raise working capital?
Community Finder: Curated Directory of Online Communities
Why do I think this is great?
Finding niche communities is hard.
Monetisation can be charging a listing fee from paid communities.
Ratings and reviews can boost the credibility of the platform.
Network effects are built into the product.
This product had 24 upvotes at the time of writing this and I think there is potential if you can establish a brand. Think of it like building “Yelp” for communities.
If you can establish a brand, you can also charge recurring fees from paid communities. I would happily pay a percentage to promote my paid community and I think a lot of community owners would.
Chefpage: Publishing platform for food & recipes
Why do I think this is great?
Lots of potential organic traffic.
Monetise free pages through ads.
Monetise paid pages through subscription & e-commerce.
Become a possible acquisition target for food startups.
This one had about ~33 upvotes and I believe it is a very good, low effort, high reward product. There are a lot of monetisation options on both paid and free tiers. You can drive traffic by giving away free recipe pages to YouTubers and Instagrammers who create content focussed on food.
So those were the 3 interesting topics that I found on Product Hunt.
I’ll be back with another post soon.
